Sherman

Having already told facebook, this shouldn't be news to my usual readers, but I wanted to note here that Sherman died on Tuesday (peacefully, at the vet's office) due to his arthritis having progressed to the point where he could not stand. Photos from happier times, earlier this year.

Snow day last week

The kids had a snow day two weeks ago, and this is how it went for the small dog.

Our housemates added a third dog to the household. Brownie is a fully grown 8lb lap dog, believed to be a chihuahua dachshund mix. The big dogs are mostly unconcerned (she will play with them just a little bit) and I find her quite charming.

Snow makes silly dogs

Sherman does not much like the snow, but if I go out and play with Stella he wants to be part of it.

I guess the weather has gotten colder; Stella and Sherman are no longer scrupulously not touching each other.

Moistening the Dogs

It's warm enough to take the dogs swimming, which means that they should both be getting more exercise. Except today the water was pretty high, and we lost both sticks to the current because Sherman's not good at going after a stick that's out of his sight, and Stella won't pass Sherman to get at a stick.

My camera phone doesn't have enough shutter control to capture the shot I wanted, but here Sherman is shaking water off his coat.
