It's been a very long time since I touched it, but when I made these paper models I was pretty much writing matlab or python to output postscript code, and doing a puzzle to put it together, without ever looking at it as a 3d rendering. I've wanted a better tool, and am trying out VPython, for whether it fits my needs.
There's at least one ugly bug in today's code, but I have a first pretty picture for what it can do.
Due to library compatibility issues, I installed a copy of python3 and VPython to match it, so I'm learning the differences there, as I go.
I don't think this will actually get me out of rolling my own postscript libraries, for when I want to build it out of paper, but being able to render on screen is a big debugging convenience.
