Quilting the Hexagon Quilt

I ordered some kimono silk quilting thread from https://www.superiorthreads.com/ (neither of my convenient local retailers carry anything in the ballpark), layered the big hexagons quilt, and made Monty spend half his Sunday morning tinkering with my sewing machine to adjust for a quilting foot not to go "thump thump thump," and dug into the quilting on this quilt.

I'm doing the twisty border around each hexagon, and a loose stipple (my first time) inside each hexagon.  It goes quite briskly, but is tiring (on both attention and arm muscles), and I have fumbled a few of the corners where three hexagons come together by having the fabric edges hump up.  This is a very different kind of quilting than the more geometric stuff done with heavy cotton thread that I've done before.
