This moth showed up in our dining room yesterday evening, and I caught it for a picture in daylight. After the usual views, I started trying to get some more of its detail to show up by playing with the exposure. The first view is true to the overall appearance.

I think it's a Yellow-headed Cutworm (Apamea amputatrix), but could be mistaken. The pair of white dots inside the reniform spot should be the diagnostic field mark. Somerville MA, 6/29/2016.
