From last weekend, Dark-banded Owlet (Phalaenophana pyramusalis), which came to lights and was in the bucket, despite having partially blocked the bucket entrance against the June beetles. I did moth-hunt this weekend, but it was chilly and I don't have a big variety of pictures, and fewer that I've had a chance to edit. Jaffrey NH, 05/28/2017.

lumpy moth on white background, lumpy moth on fingertip

This moth came to lights on Saturday night, stayed the night, and needed to be removed from the sheet and relocated to a tree, the next morning. American Lappet Moth (Phyllodesma americana). Jaffrey NH, 2017/05/28.

Friday night I had the sheet and moth trap out against Monty's garage door - which shelters it from the rain, but isn't a particularly good spot. The one moth that was actually in the trap in the morning was this one: Fluid Arches (Morrisonia latex). Jaffrey NH, 2017/05/27.

yellow moth on yellow flower

This moth came to my UV light on Saturday night, and was sitting under the lid of the trap the next morning. Looking for a place to put it (it didn't seem inclined to fly away), I found a flower that seemed about right.

Lemon Plagodis (Plagodis serinaria); Jaffrey NH, 2015/05/28.

Small toad surrounded by grass and flowers, Black snake, coiled, small orange newt, large toad on dead leaves, white skull with plant growing out of eye socket, small yellow/brown frog on windowsill

It was a good weekend for wildlife in Jaffrey. The water snake was down by the shore of Gilmore Pond.

The beaver skull was wide out in the open, just as shown, deep in the woods.

The spring peeper was on Monty's living room window. I am now a little lost identification-wise; I thought the other frog sitting on a window (photographed last summer) was a grey tree frog, but now I think it was also a spring peeper because they seem very similar to each other. In any case, this one pretty clearly has the X mark on the back. Of course no size reference photographed with either, but the one shown is about 3/4" long. It was able to walk about a foot up the surface of the window.

small black moth with white wing bars, on screen

This lively little moth Monty and I caught up with just outside his back door. It didn't stop long, so I had to make do with the picture I grabbed. I think it's "white-striped black" (Trichodezia albovittata). Jaffrey NH, 2017/05/27.

Last night it was rainy and I didn't get a big haul of moths; just one in the bucket (though I'll post it later) and I had hung the sheet against Monty's garage door (so I could keep the battery inside and not risk it getting rained on). Tonight, plenty of moths, but also many huge june beetles, so I am keeping the bucket trap blocked off (the big buzzy beetles will otherwise chew up any moths that get trapped with them).

striped moth on ridged metal surface

Last Saturday night was a complete bust for unpacking moths from the bucket in the morning, but there were a fair number flying around the trap after dark. This seems to be Variable Carpet (Anticlea vasiliata) with the w shape in the patterning the field mark.

Brown moth with line of white spots

Not 100% sure on the ID of this; there seem to be Homochlodes species that aren't reliably distinguishable (if it's one of those at all) but nearest guess for now is Pale Homochlodes (Homochlodes fritillaria).
